Our naturist site
is based at Haverigg, Millom, Cumbria,
Northwest England (UK). We are
approximately two miles from the village
and 45 minutes drive from
Barrow-in-Furness if you know the
roads!, Access by cars and caravans
presents no problems as we continue to
upgrade our approach track yearly. (GRID
REF. SD17/134788)
Our site is adjacent
to the beach, which although not
officially naturist, is used by us with
discretion. The site has 46 acres with
camping areas for touring tents and
caravans which must be booked in
advance. At this moment we have No
facilities not even toilets because of
the terms of our lease and it's a Site
of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)
Access to showers/toilets at Millom
Rugby Club (about a mile away) can be
arranged, Campers must bring everything
they need. Water is available at the
farm, (Caravans can be stored at the
farm for £70.00 per annum).
L.O.C.
members and guests are very welcome to
use the bar facilities at the nearby
Rugby Club. The Rugby Club is passed on
our private approach road. Children are
welcome during the early part of the
evening. A good selection of bar meals
are available in Haverigg at both
lunchtime and evenings. The same is true
of Millom. In Millom, a few private
Hotels offer slightly fuller meals.
These usually need to be booked in
advance. Dogs are allowed on site, but
must be tethered. They may be exercised
on the beach and campsite perimeters.
Owners must clear up any unforeseen
fouling. We welcome families especially.
We are an ideal touring base for the
Lake District and we are a friendly
crowd. An Information Centre exists in Millom.
During the winter months we hold a club
swim at the DALTON LEISURE CENTRE (Tel
01229 463125) on the 2nd Saturday of
each month (October to March) from 7pm
to 9pm. |
